Gene in huntington’s disease

The probability of each offspring inheriting an affected gene is 50%. Huntington’s disease is inherited in an autosomal dominant fashion. Inheritance is independent of gender, and the phenotype does not skip generations.
A single abnormal gene, the basic biological unit of heredity, produces HD. Genes are composed of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), a molecule shaped like a spiral ladder. Each rung of this ladder is composed of two paired chemicals called bases.
An early-onset form of Huntington’s disease accounts for a small number of cases and begins in childhood or adolescence.
If you do not get the gene from your parents, you cannot pass the gene onto your children.
